Volunteer at an energy-upgrade work-party. Check out our events calendar to sign up for a party. The parties are free.
- We teach all sorts of efficiency tasks that you can use on your own home, whether it’s an apartment or mansion.
- You meet lots of people and help a neighbor lower their energy bills. Nice.
Host an energy-upgrade work-party in your own home or the building of your nonprofit.
- We’ll do a thorough check-up of your building beforehand including a blower door test. Our work parties reduce the draftiness of a building by 20% on average (as measured by pre- and post-blower door tests), and reduce your heat, electricity and water bills by 5 to 10%.
- You only pay for materials we install and for some food for the volunteers.
- In a home, the materials cost on average $300 and save you about $3,000 over the next decade in energy and water bills.
- In a nonprofit, materials cost on average $500 and you save on average $9,600 over the next decade.

- Become a team leader. We train people to be team leaders at our Cambridge events. When you sign up for our events, there’s a place to note that you want to be a team leader trainee.
